My last post was on Plants and Climate Change, and this post will continue with the theme on climate change, concentrating on Nobel Prize winner John Clauser, who says there is no climate crisis.

John Clauser, a physicist, was jointly awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.” Very impressive.

But recently he’s come under fire for daring to challenge the often-heard claim that we’re in a “climate crisis.” According to Clauser, however, he said, “Great news! There is no climate crisis!”

This is welcome and refreshing. I really don’t care to watch the news anymore because it’s so negative and slanted, seeded with doom and gloom. The Biden administration, for example, pushes the climate agenda, calling it a “code red for humanity” and promises dictatorial action if congress doesn’t comply. Sadly, these alarmist claims are hailed by the media as they seek a gullible audience willing to give up freedom to stop temperatures from rising, something the government has no control over.

Thankfully there are some willing to push back. And Clauser is the most recent voice of reason.

His critics, however, seek to silence him by denying his expertise or hurling insults. The Washington Post refers to Clauser and other climate skeptics as “fringe,” insisting their views contradict the scientific consensus and mislead the public.

But Clauser isn’t shaken. As for those who claim the consensus of scientists agree there’s a climate crisis, he says, “There was overwhelming consensus that what I was doing was pointless. It took 50 years for my work to win the prize. That’s how long it takes for opinions to change.” Bingo!

The scientific consensus has been wrong throughout history, so why do so many people still fall for that trick? Many scientific breakthroughs come at the expense of the consensus from those who are skeptics. That’s how science works. By questioning it.

Clauser contends that cloud cover has a net cooling effect on the planet, while others, like Michael Mann claim that clouds have a net warming effect, so he calls Clauser’s work “pure garbage” or “pseudoscience.” See how the game is played?

Undeterred, Clauser explains that even Albert Einstein was ridiculed for many of his ideas, such as quantum entanglement: “It has happened in science that the majority was dead wrong. I have no idea if that is the case here, but science has to be open to debate.”

He’s right. Instead of using ridicule to silence debate, the alarmists should engage the skeptics openly and honestly. Sadly, that’s not likely to happen, as a recent conference Clauser was scheduled to speak at was cancelled with no explanation. That’s another part of the silencing game.

Interestingly, Clauser is an atheist, which makes him an even bigger threat to the powers that be. Atheists tend to believe the earth is fragile, and that humans are a threat to the planet. Many theists, however, believe God designed the earth for man’s existence; they believe the earth is robust, resilient, self-adjusting, self-cleaning, and dynamic. So I’m glad Clauser sees the natural protection we enjoy and hasn’t bought into the doom and gloom.

I’m also glad Clauser called out President Biden for his climate initiatives, which harm more people than any change in climate. Clauser’s willingness to criticize Biden and his policies, and then announce it, requires a backbone, and that’s nice to see he has one.

Clauser’s message is welcome: “the planet is not in peril.” I certainly agree, and I hope more people join the parade. Thankfully he’s not the only physicist making these claims. There’s also William Happer, Richard Lindzen, Freeman Dyson, Ivar Giaever, and Steven E. Koonin, among many others.

Although I’m no physicist, it makes sense that cloud cover would lead to a net cooling effect. Consider, when there’s a good snowstorm, when does the snow melt? Does it melt when there’s a lot of cloud cover? Or when there’s lots of sunlight? According to my observation, there’s little melting with heavy cloud cover, but lots of melting when the sun shines. Likewise, my house is warmer when the sun is out, but cooler when cloudy, so not only are Clauser’s claims logical, but they’re supported by physics.

The bottom line is, there’s no reason to panic. Why? Because there is no climate crisis. Spread the word.
